Every Petrichor Candle is hand-poured in small batches with care and intention — not mass-produced. This means each candle is individually quality-checked to ensure a clean, even burn and a beautiful fragrance experience every time.

We use 100% natural soy wax, blended with phthalate-free, paraben-free fragrance oils inspired by nature and Australian surroundings. Unlike many supermarket candles that use synthetic wax blends and cheaper fragrance oils, ours are designed to burn cleaner — with no harsh chemicals, no headaches, and no black soot.

Each Petrichor Candle is crafted to bring warmth, nostalgia, and a little piece of nature into your home — something you simply won’t find in a supermarket aisle.

We use 100% natural soy wax because it’s cleaner, longer-burning, and better for both you and the planet. Unlike paraffin wax (a petroleum byproduct often used in mass-produced candles), soy wax is made from sustainable soybeans — a renewable, biodegradable resource.

Soy wax also burns cooler and slower, meaning you get more hours of fragrance and value from every candle. It produces little to no soot, creating a cleaner air environment in your home.

At Petrichor Candles, we love soy wax for the way it holds fragrance beautifully — releasing scent gently and consistently throughout your space, without being overpowering. It’s part of what gives our candles their natural, calming presence.

Our candles are made using high-quality fragrance oils — many of which contain a large percentage of pure essential oils.

We choose fragrance oils over using only essential oils because they offer a more consistent scent, better performance, and a safer burn. Pure essential oils on their own can vary in strength, evaporate quickly when heated, and sometimes lose their aroma in candle form.

By using premium fragrance oils that blend essential oils with other safe, stabilising ingredients, we’re able to create candles that smell true-to-life, burn evenly, and fill your space with a balanced, long-lasting scent — without compromising on quality or safety.

Candle care is the secret to getting the most out of your Petrichor Candle — both in burn time and scent throw. Here are a few simple tips to keep your candle burning beautifully every time:

🕯️ 1. Trim your wick before every burn.
If your candle has a wooden wick, trim it to about 3–5mm before lighting. This helps it burn evenly, prevents flickering, and reduces soot.

🔥 2. Let the wax melt to the edges.
On your first burn, allow the candle to melt all the way to the edge of the jar (this can take 2–3 hours). This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even burn.

🌿 3. Burn safely.
Always place your candle on a heat-safe surface, away from drafts, pets, and children. Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

💨 4. Extinguish gently.
Blow out carefully or use a candle snuffer to avoid wax splatter. Allow the wax to cool and solidify before relighting.

♻️ 5. Reuse your jar.
Once your candle is finished, clean out the remaining wax and repurpose the jar — they make beautiful holders for small plants, cotton pads, or stationery.

All Petrichor Candles are hand-poured, ensuring every candle is crafted with care and attention to detail.

Orders are typically processed and dispatched within 3 - 5 business days. During busy periods (like new collection launches or holidays), processing times may be slightly longer — but we’ll always do our best to get your order out as quickly as possible.

Once shipped via Australia Post, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your tracking details so you can follow your parcel’s journey to your doorstep.

We want you to absolutely love your Petrichor Candle — but we understand that sometimes a fragrance might not be what you expected.

If your candle arrives faulty or damaged, please email us a photo within 7 days of receiving your order, and we’ll happily arrange a replacement, refund, or gift voucher — whichever you prefer.

If you’ve simply changed your mind, we do accept returns for a refund within 7 days, as long as the candle is unused and in its original packaging. Return postage (with tracking) will be at your expense, and we’ll process your refund once the item arrives safely back with us.

Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable, and refunds will be issued via your original payment method.
