We use 100% natural soy wax, blended with phthalate-free, paraben-free fragrance oils inspired by nature and Australian surroundings. Unlike many supermarket candles that use synthetic wax blends and cheaper fragrance oils, ours are designed to burn cleaner — with no harsh chemicals, no headaches, and no black soot.

We use 100% natural soy wax because it’s cleaner, longer-burning, and better for both you and the planet. Unlike paraffin wax (a petroleum byproduct often used in mass-produced candles), soy wax is made from sustainable soybeans — a renewable, biodegradable resource.

Soy wax also burns cooler and slower, meaning you get more hours of fragrance and value from every candle. It produces little to no soot, creating a cleaner air environment in your home.

No. Our candles are made with premium fragrance oils, not pure essential oils.

We choose high-quality fragrance oils because they allow us to create beautiful, true-to-life scents that burn consistently, smell balanced from the first light to the last, and provide excellent scent throw throughout your home.

Our fragrance oils are carefully formulated blends of fragrance ingredients, which may include naturally derived ingredients, nature-identical aroma molecules, and, in some cases, essential oil components. This gives us the flexibility to recreate scents that simply can't be achieved using essential oils alone—like the fresh smell of rain, ocean air, or Australian bushland.

All of our fragrance oils are sourced from reputable Australian suppliers and comply with Australian regulations and IFRA (International Fragrance Association) standards, so you can enjoy a high-quality home fragrance experience with confidence.

Candle care is the secret to getting the most out of your Petrichor Candle — both in burn time and scent throw. Here are a few simple tips to keep your candle burning beautifully every time:

🕯️ 1. Trim your wick before every burn.
If your candle has a wooden wick, trim it to about 3–5mm before lighting. This helps it burn evenly, prevents flickering, and reduces soot.

🔥 2. Let the wax melt to the edges.
On your first burn, allow the candle to melt all the way to the edge of the jar (this can take 2–3 hours). This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even burn.

🌿 3. Burn safely.
Always place your candle on a heat-safe surface, away from drafts, pets, and children. Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

💨 4. Extinguish gently.
Blow out carefully or use a candle snuffer to avoid wax splatter. Allow the wax to cool and solidify before relighting.

♻️ 5. Reuse your jar.
Once your candle is finished, clean out the remaining wax and repurpose the jar — they make beautiful holders for small plants, cotton pads, or stationery.

Orders are typically processed and dispatched within 3 - 5 business days. During busy periods (like new collection launches or holidays), processing times may be slightly longer — but we’ll always do our best to get your order out as quickly as possible.

Once shipped via Australia Post, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your tracking details so you can follow your parcel’s journey to your doorstep.

We want you to absolutely love your Petrichor Candle — but we understand that sometimes a fragrance might not be what you expected.

If you’ve simply changed your mind, we do accept returns for a refund within 7 days, as long as the candle is unused and in its original packaging. Return postage (with tracking) will be at your expense, and we’ll process your refund once the item arrives safely back with us.

Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable, and refunds will be issued via your original payment method.

At Petrichor Candles, all products are carefully inspected and packed before dispatch. If your order arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order at info@petrichorcandles.com.au.

To process your claim, we require:

• Clear photos of the product, packaging, and shipping label
• A video clearly showing the fault or damage
• Your order number

Claims submitted without sufficient evidence or outside the 7-day timeframe may not be approved.

Due to an increase in courier-related incidents and fraudulent claims, all damages and fault claims are subject to review. In some cases, we may request the item be returned for inspection before offering a replacement, store credit, or refund.
